No, Wayfare does not charge you based on data volumes. The Wayfare agent can be installed wherever your data is located, with the only volume-based cost being the compute power needed to run the agent.

Wayfare provides a seamless suite of features for data ingestion, transformation, activation, and governance in a federated approach, allowing local data movement. This contrasts with other vendors that require significant integration development or data movement across the internet.

Contributor licenses are meant for users who need to build and manage data assets in Wayfare. Contributors can, among other things, configure new data sources, configure syncs and sync schedules, and setup data activations. They also have the ability to view data assets in the organization's integrated Data Catalog in Wayfare.
What can a user with a Viewer license do?
Viewer licenses are meant for users who need to view data assets in an organization, but who do not need to be able to build or manage data assets in Wayfare. Viewers can always access the organization's integrated Data Catalog in Wayfare.
What skills do Wayfare users need?
Viewers require no technical skills to view data assets. Contributors need minimal technical skills for configurations and scheduling, while building data models in Wayfare requires basic SQL proficiency.

We use a combination of Workspaces, role-based access controls (RBAC), and credentials passthrough to manage access in Wayfare.
What is credentials passthrough?
Credentials passthrough allows you to use your user's existing permissions and data access in your data warehouse through Wayfare.
